Pennsylvania Interscholastic Esports Association (PIEA) is partnering up with AVGL, a leading scholastic esports organization, to kick off their series of tournaments for popular video game titles Overwatch and Rocket League across the state of Pennsylvania.
PIEA’s state legislated esports tournaments aim to help shape the future of Pennsylvania high school esports programs. Currently, hundreds of schools in Pennsylvania are aiming to compete at a local state level. AVGL will serve as PIEA’s official tournament organization platform, offering a centralized location for all of PIEA’s schools to find and engage in their competition.

What is the PIEA League Tournaments structure?
PIEA will be kicking off their playoffs for Overwatch and Rocket League for all high schools in Pennsylvania. PIEA is building a unified, state-supported league system across popular esports titles. PIEA is accepting applications for schools operating in the state of Pennsylvania interested in taking part in the initiative of providing students with a more safe, structured, and reliable environment to participate in esports. Schools can apply on the PIEA’s Main Webpage found here.
PIEA currently allows Pennsylvania schools a local opportunity to compete. With AVGL’s support, they will also be offering national events for the same schools to compete in, free of charge.
