Two weeks ago we had our April Anarchy qualifiers where students from colleges all over the country played for the top three spot to qualify for the upcoming Code Red Fortnite tournament. Our winners were a pair of twins that went from eighth to first in the last game of the finals! They now take part in our Code Red with a prize pool of $25,000. They will now put themselves against influencers such as Clixhimself, NateHill, and G2 Jelty.
The twins, Christopher and Oliver Koch-Paiz(Mellow and Frosty), were pretty much speechless in the post event interview where they revealed they were twins. But not only twins, they play in the same dorm room at Loyola University Maryland!
- Grand Finals – $25,000 PRIZE POOL
- 1st place: $7,500 & ROCCAT Care Package
- 2nd place: $5,000
- 3rd place: $3,750
- 4th place: $2,500
- 5/6th place: $1,875
- 7/8th place: $1,250
We caught up with Mellow to ask him a few questions about the upcoming event and what it’s like to participate in such a high tier tournament with his brother. He went on to say; “Qualifying for a large tournament with some of the largest influencers and best pros like this is definitely a new experience for both me and my brother. We are glad that we can participate in this event and are looking forward to competing against some of the top players to see where we stand.” Competing with influencers that are this popular is not something that most people get a chance to do. Mellow talked about how he has heard about many of them and even watch some of them on twitch. Him and his twin have an advantage like no other though… “My twin and I have pretty much played all duo/trio/squad events together. We are on the same time schedule and know how much time we are both willing to put into the game so we found eachother as a good fit.” It will be great to follow them in this even to see how this opportunity plays out.
The Code Red presented by Xfinity featuring Fortnite takes place Wednesday April 28th, at 1pm PST. The total prize pool is $25,000 with top place taking home $7,500 and a care package from sponsor ROCCAT. To keep up to date with all of the action the event will be live right on Twitch and the bracket as well as the event can also be viewed on Boom.tv
